“You can’t get lacrosse out of the boy, nor can you get the boy out of lacrosse!” says “veteran lacrosse coach” Denny Tippo in a note transmitting a copy of a press release from Sewanee, the University of the South, announcing his appointment as assistant lacrosse coach. Denny is now based in Sarasota, Florida. This latest appointment marks his 40th year in coaching lacrosse, going back to 1967 when he started as JV head coach at Taft School.

Michael Waddell died November 26 in Marion, Indiana, from natural causes. After graduation in 1966 on a NROTC scholarship, he became a Navy pilot, flying E-2 Hawkeye aircraft. He is survived by a son and a daughter. His wife, Mary, predeceased him.

A recent issue of Colorado Business magazine lists the 20 most influential people in the state of Colorado. And who appears in the number 17 slot—ahead of Pete Coors and Tom Tancredo—but our own Chips Barry? Chips is the head of the Denver Water Board, which supplies water, a crucial commodity in Colorado and most other western states, to most of the Denver area.
