Thanks to Tim Wollaeger, who provided this piece of news: “With the encouragement of fellow classmate and author Bob Hemphill, I have written a book entitled It’s Not Just Business. The book is a combination autobiography and motivational and get-it-done story. I had a first draft at the reunion and received editing help from several classmates. I have been able to give talks on the book at Yale and several other colleges.”
We are saddened to report the passing of another classmate. David Laidley, captain of our football team, died unexpectedly this past October 3. We were happy to see him at the 50th reunion when he seemed healthy and as full of life as ever. After graduation Dave went on to earn a JD from DePaul University and to become general counsel of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Most of his working years were spent in the Chicago area as an attorney in private practice and as a real estate developer. He leaves his wife of 45 years, Diane, six children, and seven grandchildren.
