Mark your calendars! Save the dates! The schedules for next year’s reunions have recently been announced. Ours (the 45th—hard to believe!) will be the weekend of June 2–5, 2011. More information will follow over the upcoming months, but if you have any questions feel free to address them to Cary Koplin, once again our reunion chairman (ckoplin@nb.com). Rest assured that, after his wife, his kids, his grandkids, his dog, and, maybe, his clients, he will give your questions the highest priority! Gene Thompson related in a recent e-mail that he, J. K. Singh, and 11 of their buddies have been planning to get together at this reunion for over a year. They are “stoked”!
Bill Haas is running again for Congress in the Second District of Missouri—but this time with an interesting twist: as a Republican in the Republican primary. “As you may remember,” says Bill, “I was the Democratic nominee in 2008 after a competitive five-person primary where I was outspent by a couple of the others 10/12–1. But I got beat in the general election 2–1. I have concluded a Democrat can’t win this district but that a moderate Republican might, so I haven’t changed my views, values, or positions much if any, just my party affiliation.”
Sadly, we must report the death of another classmate. Barry O’Connor died on May 2. He was buried in a private family ceremony, which was followed by a cocktail party to celebrate his life, attended byMac Bradford, Charlie Kaufmann, and Mike Woleben.
